UPDATE : So I uploaded the first part on dA for all of you to read. :) Obviously dA won't let me put it whole which is good in a way because it can be tiring.

Hello everyone  :) So I am writing my first book and I would like some feedback to you know figure out if I am going in the right direction with it or not. I am already on page 129 - Chapter 2.

The book is in English - not my native language but it is a language I love and feel I've known for a lifetime.

Most of you will ask what's it about so here goes nothing :

The action takes place between 1830-1850 and it's a journal-flashback style story told by a woman now in her 50's about her life as a young girl and how she met and fell in love with her piano teacher -  a prodigy who at only 20 years old teaches piano and is known worldwide. He eventually dies in his 30's. After 20 years she decides to write her memories vowing to not let him and his music die once again. - A fact which is mentioned right at the beginning of the book. Her name is Aimee Beauchamp and she lived in a dysfunctional family. He's name is Frederic 'Eric' Duvant and comes from a family with two nationalities French and English.

The plot of the book came to me in a dream. Random dream after seeing a bunch of movies with no connection to the plot itself. But that's just my brain.

A WARNING though : I know that the English language uses ' and " for dialogues but I remembered that halfway through writing the book and as such the dialogues are with - instead of " or ' . Please excuse my foolish mistake

Thank you :) I know it's not a good summary but I hope you'll get it. :sun:

It is so amazing! I've spent, I think, 1 hour reading it - and it is great, I must say. Although, there is a lack of commas, and it is "his" not "he's". English is nor my native language, and you know about a 1000 more words than I do; I just figured, you maybe wanted to know, if you want it published ('cause you have potential!) :aww:
